Why this one
Most compounds reach the mitochondrion incidentally. SS-31 was designed to accumulate there and associate with cardiolipin — which is why it appears throughout membrane integrity and bioenergetics literature rather than general metabolic work.

Handling
Store sealed vials at 2–8°C for short-term use, or at −20°C for long-term storage, and protect from light. Reconstitute with the diluent your protocol specifies; bacteriostatic water is the common choice where a vial will be entered more than once.
Allow refrigerated material to reach room temperature before opening, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles once in solution.
