Why this one
NNMT sits one step from NAD⁺ salvage, and until there was a usable inhibitor it was difficult to interrogate directly. 5-Amino-1MQ is that tool — the reason a whole line of methyltransferase work became tractable.
It runs in adipocyte and myocyte culture where NNMT expression is high, and in enzymatic assays measuring methyltransferase activity outright. A small molecule, not a peptide, and it behaves like one.

Handling
Store sealed vials at 2–8°C for short-term use, or at −20°C for long-term storage, and protect from light. Reconstitute with the diluent your protocol specifies; bacteriostatic water is the common choice where a vial will be entered more than once.
Allow refrigerated material to reach room temperature before opening, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles once in solution.
